Rochester International Jazz Festival 2007

Tomorrow, the Rochester International Jazz Festival kicks off and runs through June 16th. This event has grown into an one that's recognized on an international scale. The neat thing about it is it has many different types of jazz at many different prices. A club pass gets you into all of the club venues for one price (it sold out today). The Eastman Theatre events are single ticket shows that involve larger names. Finally, there is a free stage on Gibbs Street open every night, and additional stages are open on weekends. If you don't like jazz, I still recommend visiting on a weekend evening to see the impact of this festival. Even during the week, Gibbs Street is busy with activity. It's turned into a great tourist draw--and a great overall event--for Rochester.
