The Latest Soccer Stadium: Rochester's Paetec Park

Due to the success of the Rochester Rhinos, a soccer stadium project has been in the works for a number of years. The Rhinos have averaged near-capacity crowds at Frontier Field, a baseball stadium, for a decade. Rochester's professional outdoor lacrosse team, the Rattlers, were forced to play in a high school stadium despite strong attendance due to field wear and tear. Needless to say, there is a need for the facility.

I got my first look during a Rattlers season ticket holders event. I was very impressed with the facility. Seating is right on top of the field, while the upper deck provides a very unique perspective, as it's not too high, but very steep. Even the seats behind the net provide pretty good perspective down the field.

The organization is hoping for phase II funding which will allow them to expand capacity to 17,500 and add some additional bells and whistles. Regardless of if it occurs, it'll be a first-class place to see a game. I'm already looking forward to the next season. Public facilities always have some positives and negatives. Luckily, the organization has a number of events lined up so a wide cross-section of people will enjoy the facility, while it should also help the surrounding neighborhood. So it should be a win for everyone.

Leading iPod Television Shows?

That's right. Many of the networks are now allowing consumers to download shows for their iPod for a nominal fee. This allows consumers to watch shows at their convenience. It almost sounds silly at first, but could it work?

In my opinion, the answer is yes, although primarily in large cities. It will allow those with long train commutes to watch their favorite shows at their convenience. In fact, it was reported that Lost was an early favorite on the small screen.

It seemed that there might be a ceiling for the utility of iPods and other similar devices. However, you have to give Apple and company credit, as they continue to expand the product's utility.
